Katie Lewellyn has established herself as one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s most versatile and sought-after photographers. With 19 years of experience, an Emmy honorable mention, a photojournalism degree from San Francisco State University, and numerous industry accolades, Katie’s reputation is built on her exceptional skill and relentless passion for her craft. Her infectious enthusiasm and unmatched talent have made her the go-to photographer for musicians, venues, and companies across the region and beyond. Katie’s work as a brand photographer for Mare Island Brewery is one example of how she’s been able to bring her unique vision to the local craft beer scene, generating striking content for the company’s three locations throughout the North Bay. She has also expanded her reach to New York’s luxury piercing market, collaborating with Nine Moons Piercing to capture high-fashion portraits of the studio’s talented staff and clients. Her curated imagery has enhanced the brand's visual identity, capturing the essence of BVLA jewelry and warm, inviting atmosphere.
But it’s in the music industry where Katie truly stands apart. Her journey into music photography began in 2021 when she received a photo pass from Trevor Strnad to shoot The Black Dahlia Murder, one of her favorite death metal bands. That experience ignited a new passion, and since then, Katie has been traveling the concert circuit, immortalizing the raw energy of live performances for top-tier outlets like Heaviest Of Art, Scary Monsters Music Inc., Metal Injection, Another Planet Entertainment and Goldenvoice. Her photography not only documents these moments but amplifies them, creating dynamic, powerful images and video content that resonate with both fans and artists alike.
In February, Katie took her first touring gig around North America as Aborted’s headlining tour photographer. Four weeks, 17 sold out ragers, VIP meet and greet coverage, social media video recaps, etc. The first of MANY more tours to come…
